FROM NIGEL REES

REVISED 23 April 2008

The BBC Radio quiz Quote ... Unquote has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in the United Kingdom since 1976.  Devised and introduced by myself, the programme has become something of an institution and the world of Quote ... Unquote now encompasses a substantial archive of material concerning quotations and ‘well-known phrases and sayings’ of many types.  When the programme is not on the air, searching for ‘lost’ quotations and for the origins of phrases and sayings is undertaken in The “Quote ... Unquote” Newsletter and through this website.

Series 42 of the radio show will be broadcast from Wednesday 21 May and repeated from Tuesday 22 July.  For details, see BROADCAST NEWS.  Details, too, of our signature tune.

My latest book is available: see All Gong and No Dinner in NEW BOOKS.

It is now possible to subscribe online to the Newsletter  – go to http://www.qunl.com

As ever, there are the LATEST QUOTATION QUERIES and a fully-revised main SEARCHING FOR LOST QUOTATIONS.
