These petechial (pinpoint) and ecchymotic (blood splash) haemorrhages are located subserosally and found in a variety of bacterial and viral septicaemias and in purpura haemorrhagica.
Differential diagnosis:
* PDNS *
* acute salmonellosis *
* purpura haemorrhagica *
* acute classical swine fever *
* acute African swine fever *
* acute septicaemias: e.g. erysipelas, Pasteurella infection or colisepticaemia *
