The telephone number you submitted on the opening screen is checked to
make sure that it is a valid BT telephone number and that it has, or has had within the
last 7 days, a fault registered against it.
If no fault reports are found for the number the system will display a screen informing
you of that. You may wish to check to make sure you entered the correct telephone number.
It may also be that the fault was dealt with and closed more than 7 days ago, in which
case it will no longer be available to view through this system.
However, if the system finds a fault record for the number given it will
display a screen similar to that shown below.

fig. 2 - Fault Record Found Screen
This screen gives the date the fault was reported on and shows that it
is still being worked on.
If you want to see more details about the fault and its status you can click on the Outstanding Fault hi-lighted link.
If the fault has already been dealt with by BT then it will be shown as
a historic fault, as illustrated by the screen below.

fig. 3 - Historic Fault Record Found Screen
Historic faults will only be visible for a short time after they are closed, (about 7 days). No more detailed display of historic faults are given.
